Raccoon that attacked cat found to be rabid

The Maine Center for Disease Control (CDC) has found that a raccoon killed in the early hours of Tuesday, Jan. 14, was infected with rabies, said Animal Control Officer Heidi Blood. The animal had attacked a pet cat on Camden Road and was killed by the homeowner, who was awakened by the struggle, Blood said.
