Students at two local elementary schools learned how officers with the Waldo County Sheriff's Department rely on the talents of a four-legged co-worker who has a nose for crime.
Monday, June 17, Detective Merl Reed, his K9 Neva and Deputy Jordan Tozier visited with students at the Gladys Weymouth School in Morrill, during which the officers demonstrated how Neva helps the officers do their jobs.
