A new undersea cable installed by Central Maine Power Co. will provide more reliable electrical service to Islesboro.
The new cable runs about 15,000 feet from Northport to the western shore of Islesboro, according to a news release from CMP. The cable replaces one that was installed in 1995, and will serve as a redundant feed to another cable installed in 1992.
