A tugboat that was being hoisted from the water at Front Street Shipyard Wednesday, Aug. 26, fell back into the water after the lift's slings and cables broke.
Shipyard owner J.B. Turner said he believes rolling chocks on the bottom of Fournier Tugs' approximately 400-ton tugboat cut into the slings, causing them to tear. This put more weight on the cables and some snapped.
