The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office recognized two citizens for assisting an elderly woman who had fallen outdoors and broken her leg.
The 86-year-old Unity woman fell while outside her residence Dec. 30. With her leg broken, she was unable to get back on her feet and into her home. At the time, temperatures were well below freezing.
