Shortly before a four-car accident on Route 1 in Searsport would back up traffic and make passage of emergency crews difficult, a call went out to area fire departments to respond to a structure fire in Searsport.
The home at 12 Sanborn Valley Rd., about 1/4 mile down the private dirt road off Harris Road, was completely engulfed in flames at the time of the call, at about 12:20 p.m. Monday Sept. 1.
