Searsport police responded to two crashes over the course of the day Tuesday, April 22.
The first crash was reported at 10:30 a.m. on West Main Street after George Fowler, 71, of Brooklin, struck a deer that was attempting to cross the road. Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said two deer were crossing the road and Brooklin was unable to avoid colliding with one of the animals.
